New England Running Company Staff: Lauren Hallworth

Lauren has been running for the past nine years, running cross country, the two mile in indoor track, and the one mile in outdoor track throughout high school. Lauren was able to achieve her first running goal of breaking six minutes in the mile, racing a 5:52 her junior year. She continued her running career by competing in the 1500m throughout her college years, where she earned her BFA in Studio Art at Colby Sawyer College in New London, NH.

Her inspiration is her father, Rich Hallworth, who is in the process of completing one marathon on every continent. He is a member of the No Name Athletic Club Petarchs, a running group Lauren aspires to join in her later years. Her goal is to run a 10k with her father, having already finished numerous 5ks with him last summer. Ultimately she would love to join him in running a marathon.

On her "days off" Lauren spends her time working at her newly purchased gallery, River Gallery, in Ipswich, MA.

Joining her on Mondays at New England Running Co. and every other day at River Gallery is her faithful sidekick, Bailey, a seven pound Yorkie/Maltese mix who thinks she's at least ten times her size. Much to Lauren's dismay, Bailey has even attempted to run with her, and has been successful at logging her longest run at two miles.
